Terms & Conditions
These terms govern the production, quality, packaging, and return policy of marquetry, veneer, and handcrafted wooden boxes.
1. General Provisions
1.1. These Terms govern the production, quality, packaging, and return policy of marquetry, veneer, and handcrafted wooden boxes (hereinafter referred to as "Products").
1.2. An order is considered accepted once specifications are confirmed, and the deposit is paid.
1.3. All Products are made using natural wood, veneer, and manual craftsmanship. Minor variations in texture and color are inherent and not considered defects.
2. Materials and Tolerances
2.1. Wood and Veneer:
• Natural variations in grain, color, and texture are expected.
• Acceptable veneer color variation between batches: ≤10%.
• Marquetry joints tolerance: ±0.2 mm.
• Micro-relief of marquetry seams up to 0.1 mm is considered normal for handcrafted work.
2.2. Box Geometry:
• Dimensional tolerance: ±2% on any axis.
• Corner deviation tolerance: ≤0.5 mm per 100 mm.
2.3. Finish:
• Visible wood grain through black or tinted oil is acceptable.
• A finish is considered defective if there are visible patches, peeling, or missing areas noticeable at a 50 cm distance.
2.4. Chips and Defects:
• Micro-chips up to 0.3 mm on edges are acceptable.
• Visible chips over 1 mm, cracks, or warping affecting functionality are classified as defects.
3. Personalized Products
3.1. Returns are accepted only if:
• Size deviation exceeds ±2%.
• Visible chips exceed 1 mm on any surface.
• Major finishing defects or structural issues are present.
3.2. The customer must notify SYLA GIFTS LTD within 3 business days of receiving the product with photographic/video proof.
3.3. In case of confirmed defect:
• A replacement will be produced free of charge OR
• A full refund will be issued.
3.4. No returns are accepted for personalized items without manufacturing defects due to their custom nature.
4. Non-Personalized Products
4.1. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery if the item is unused and in its original condition.
4.2. A 40% restocking fee is deducted to cover:
• 15% – material costs.
• 10% – packaging and logistics.
• 10% – labor and production setup.
• 5% – banking and administrative fees.
4.3. Return shipping is covered by the customer.
5. Vault Projects (Limited Edition / Custom Masterpieces)
5.1. Unique "Vault" projects are produced under separate technical specifications.
5.2. Deposits for Vault projects are non-refundable once production has started.
5.3. Special return policies may be outlined in an individual agreement.
6. Logistics and Shipping
6.1. Each Product is packaged using multi-layer protective materials (film, foam, reinforced box).
6.2. SYLA GIFTS LTD is not responsible for shipping damage caused by carriers.
6.3. Upon delivery, the customer must inspect the package and report any damage immediately. A shipping damage report must be filed with the carrier.
6.4. Shipping insurance can be added at the customer's request.
7. Payment Terms
7.1. All prices are listed in USD unless otherwise specified.
7.2. Orders require a deposit of 50% unless agreed otherwise in writing.
7.3. Banking fees for international transfers are covered by the customer.
7.4. Orders are shipped after full payment is received.
